trading card games Archive
I've been pouring over all the well performing decks and I've picked out five decks that I think are really cool and put up some surprising results.
This is Mardu Pyromancer, an incredibly grindy deck that looks to gain small incremental advantages and disrupt the opponent long enough for you to assemble an army of tokens to kill them with.
We have had two new cancel spells spoiled so far in Reiya Cluster 2 - "Advent of the Demon King" - and a couple more cards that appear to be 'meta-defining'.
Side decking is one of the more difficult, nuanced areas of Yugioh! but is absolutely essential to doing well in events, especially when you consider that more games are played sided than not.
I decided to drop and play in the PPTQ that would be happening. I also decided to play a very interesting deck that Ryan brought along with him.
This season of PPTQs is modern and, while I do write about it quite a bit, modern is not one of my favourite formats so I have not been looking forward to this season at all.
With many key control tools leaving, I found some cards first thought as “bad” were in fact “good”. Some cards may shine now that Alice cluster doesn’t bump them out of the lime light.
We were lucky enough to be given the latest Planeswalker decks from Wizards of the Coast and we decided to battle them against each other to see who would reign supreme.
If you ever get the chance then I can't recommend team sealed highly enough, being able to play magic with your friends is incredibly fun.
Wizards has announced the third standard banning in just a matter of months and hopefully this is the final one for a LONG time.
